Jaclyn Smith is best known for her role in the TV hit series Charlie’s Angels. She was the only original female lead to remain with the series for its complete run. After the show ended, Jaclyn Smith began developing and marketing her own brands of clothing and perfume. Jacquelin Ellen Smith was born in Houston, Texas, on October 25, 1945. The acting career of Jaclyn Smith began in the CBS-TV movie of the week Escape from Bogen County. After this small part, the movie break for Jaclyn Smith came in 1978, when she was cast in a leading role in The Users, alongside Tony Curtis. 

In Charlie’s Angels, Jaclyn Smith portrayed Kelly Garett, a private investigator who, alongside two colleagues managed to solve mysteries and catch criminals. The series ran for five seasons and the show eventually became a huge success, not only in the United States, but also in the rest of the world.  In 1985, after the TV series Charlie’s Angels  ended, Jaclyn Smith entered the fashion industry with the introduction of a women’s clothing line for Kmart. Jaclyn Smith pioneered the concept of celebrities developing their own brands of clothes and perfume, rather than merely endorsing others. The signature Jaclyn Smith line reported to have had the highest consumer awareness of any private label brand in the country. Jaclyn Smith was also a spokesmodel for Max Factor, during which she released her own perfume, called California.

Not only is Jaclyn Smith  a wonderful actress, but she is also a very good businesswoman. In 2009, a documentary about Jaclyn Smith was made, in order to profile her home life, design philosophy and relationship with Kmart. Jaclyn Smith is also a militant for non-profit organizations, such as Breast Cancer Awareness, since she herself has battled against breast cancer. Nowadays, she is retired in the comfort of her own home, with the family by her side.
